funny that i discover you today am very stimulated by your Butler critique, hit upon this post and 'constat' (sorry, dutchizzum) soliTarity differs but a letter ... even funnier i seem to have comparable probs with a pal of hers (Larry Rickels). In her defense i'll say that forcing and imposing the issue thru fist making, a shooting for the top from the street, brings up ugly sentiments galore, impatience, inflammation and all the other riot hallmarks. Besides, that burst, breach and bully tactic can only thrive on a critical mass of Butlerian groundwork or people will be too unfamiliar or too habituated [take your pick] to your complaints to see your points.
And emphasizing gesturality over verbalization opens ways to examine how hormone disrupting sewage processing (the maffia simply diluted the tox with compost to below norm and thus it ended up going down to the farm and coming 'rite' back to go down the gullet of the very degenerate cityzonies whose demand for hi tec lacks its hi ethics equivalent to prevent the products they thought would away for good). Canada, where gender relations are in ruins and full legal effect if you ask me, produced some good docus on garbage and sludge but the community in quest in in full denial and opts for stockhoming the whole damn 'devilization'.
please take a look here, if this was at all appetizing to you:

The Professor of Parody
Martha Nussbaum is an American philosopher and current Professor of Law and Ethics at the University of Chicago, where she is jointly appointed in the law school and the philosophy department. She has a particular interest in ancient Greek and Roman philosophy, political philosophy, feminism, and ethics, including animal rights.
In this essay, Nussbaum analyzes the works of Judith Butler, particularly her theory of gender performativity, and what Nussbaum calls Butler's "hip quietism" which "collaborates with evil".
"Finally there is despair at the heart of the cheerful Butlerian enterprise. The big hope, the hope for a world of real justice, where laws and institutions protect the equality and the dignity of all citizens, has been banished, even perhaps mocked as sexually tedious. Judith Butler's hip quietism is a comprehensible response to the difficulty of realizing justice in America. But it is a bad response. It collaborates with evil. Feminism demands more and women deserve better. "
